Oak
Mountain Software
Instructions
for Updating Mortality Table Data
Follow the instructions below to update the mortality table
data.
Download the file anndat.csv from the Oak Mountain
Software website to your local machine.
This is a Comma Separated (CSV) file.
If your web browser automatically opens the anndat.csv
file on the website you can only view the data – you cannot save any
changes directly on the web server. You
must still download it to your local machine if you want to make mortality
table additions or updates. To save it
to your local machine select File / Save As and save it as File Type CSV.
If you have Excel, invoke Excel and then open the file anndat.csv
on your local machine.
If you do not have Excel, open Notepad, then select File /
Open, and select the file anndat.csv.
Using Notepad is considerably more difficult to work with
because you cannot see the columns line up.
Edit the values or add a whole new row of mortality table
data to the anndat.csv file.
For a new mortality table row do the following:
Enter values for the following
heading fields:
Table Number (any # but avoid
duplicates)
First Age
Last Age
Description (This description will appear in the drop-down selection)
Radix (use 999999999 as a default
if no radix exists)
Enter qx values for ages 0-125. Do not
leave any age column empty - enter 0 in an age column where no mortality
exists.
In Excel, be sure to save the file as File Type CSV with the
name anndat.csv.
